Week 5 + 6

I have to admit I played around a little with the sites on the list for week 5- did like the google blog search- I need to remember this- found some interesting blogs on animoto and voicethread (2 of my current favorites!)

For week 6- not big on tagging but I hope that will come with time. Did open Ning account- yet I didn't like the ads (and as my son said- "just pay and they will take those away!) This might be a play for posting our tech material!

I hope folks are still working on the program- remember you can do it doing the summer and I think we might do this again next year.

Voicethreads

I'm glad to see things are going well. When you get a chance, check out www.voicethread.com It is a really easy way to add voice and drawings to photos- and then you can embed it and share it online.

How are folks doing with the RSS feeds? Any issues?

Week 4 Taming the Web!

This week you will get a chance to figure out how to manage the web.
While I have used one for a while with Discovery Education to make sure I did't miss anythig!

While I didn't read all the resources, the Common Craft article ad the the eudblog at http://www.edutopia.org/tech-teacher-RSS I found very useful.

Please make sure you add your posts every week to your blog.

I have discovered www.voicethread.com I have added a project to my blog that I created for Diane McCarthy's class- she and I will be teaching video labs to her students next week.

What a good looking group- Here we are at the celebration of the conclusion of Mystery Class.

Week 3

This is a big week for photos! For a while, I have heard of photo sharing sites- but I just couldn't get the reason. So why would I want to share pictures on the web. Well this week, I figured it out! After our mystery class celebration, I wanted to add photos to our site. Then the light bulb went on- to add photos to a blog, I needed to put them on the web! I guess that's why they have a free flickr account.

Welcome to week 2

I hope your first week went well- now the fun begins! When you read the material on the site,they mention several different free blogs. I looked at several of them- and I think blogger was the easiest to use.

I did have some trouble with the avatar- use the details and my post from last week for help. If you need me, please comment or call me.

When you have your blog completed- all you need to do is register it with me (just send me the URL). I have already done the work with the Classroom 2.0 folks.
